PLIOTEC® LS1 resin is a colloidal dispersion, manufactured by a unique process that contains no surfactants or water sensitive materials. It has been specifically developed to bring exceptional water resistance to water based paints. PLIOTEC LS1 is ideally suited for the manufacture of air-dry and forced-dry, water based industrial primers and topcoats for metallic substrates. PLIOTEC LS1 has the following characteristics exceptional water resistance at low film thickness as measured by blister box and salt spray, excellent mechanical stability. Pigments can be ground under high shear in the resin reducing handling, manufacturing and storage costs, freeze thaw resistance, excellent adhesion to 'blocked' substrates such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The positioning and number of carboxylic groupings has been optimized to ensure adhesion to steel (smooth degreased, sand blasted, galvanized), aluminum, copper, etc., high pH to eliminate the risk of flash rusting in primers, very high film hardness with good blocking resistance which can be modified using a non-water soluble plasticizer. Surfactant frees carboxylated styrene acrylic colloidal. Used for industrial primers and topcoats for metallic substrates. Offers exceptional water resistance and very good mechanical stability. Provides freeze thaw resistance and very good adhesion to 'blocked' substrates. Possesses very high film hardness with good blocking resistance.
