Slip and Gloss for Paints, Inks, and Coatings ICM 1162 Additive is a non-reactive silicone glycol copolymer. It is primarily used as an ultra-high slip additive, as well as gloss enhancer, in a wide variety of paints, inks, and coatings, including UV applications. TYPICAL PROPERTIES: Appearance.............Opaque White Liquid % Solids.....................................96 Specific Gravity......................1.03 Flash................................ > 200°F Viscosity......................... 1500 cps APPLICATIONS: Slip Secondary Benefits Gloss HOW TO USE: Typical concentrations of 0.1-2.0% by weight, based upon total solids. Higher concentrations may provide better performance, although recoatability may prove an issue. ICM 1162 is typically added in the final thinning and color-matching step. Suitable diluents include aromatic solvents, mineral spirits, and water. Non-reactive. Improves slip and gloss in a wide variety of paints. Recommended usage level: 0.1-2.0% by weight, based upon total solids. Higher concentrations may provide better performance, although recoatability may prove an issue. Should be added in the final thinning and color-matching step.
