LE-Wax 115 Polyethylene wax 09002-88-4 Leuna Polymer Antiblocking agent >> Wax Scratch/ Srcub/ Mar resistance agent >> Wax Surface conditioner, miscellaneous >> Gloss control Wax >> Polyethylene wax Coatings Inks Printing Inks & Varnishes Wood & Furniture Coatings 1% to 5% of LE Wax 112 or 114 or 115 or of 116 in a dispersed form are added to the printing inks. Either mineral oil – LE Wax – dispersions, or LE Wax dispersions based on drying oils (such as boiled linseed oil) are added to pasty, oxidatively drying printing inks. LE Wax dispersions based on toluene / xylene / white spirit as solvent are added to gravure inks. LE Waxes have the following effect in printing inks: Improved chafing and scratch resistance Improved antiblocking properties Hydrophobic Improved sliding action Improved gloss Effect on rheological properties, such as Reduced stickiness Improved printability Improved colour intensity Shorter drying time Reduced picking LE Wax 112 or 113 or 114 or 115 or 116 in a fine dispersion (particle size < 10 µm) or as a micronizate is added to paints as a flatting agent (silk gloss, dull gloss) in amounts of two to four (2 to 4) parts by weight, depending on the desired effect. LE Wax has the following effect in paints: Improved chafing and scratch resistance Improved antiblocking properties Hydrophobic (specifically for wood-preserving paint during tack-free drying) Gloss or flatting control Control of rheological properties such as Reduced settling Deposits easy to agitate Uniform application (no runs) Improved grindability Hydrophobic, low-molecular weight, branched-chained ethylene polymer. Used in printing inks and as a flatting agent (silk gloss, dull gloss) in paints. Provides improved chafing and scratch resistance, antiblocking properties, sliding action and gloss. Offers reduced settling, stickiness and picking, improved grindability, printability and color intensity and shorter drying time.
