They contain oxygenic, functional groups, mainly hydroxyl, carboxyl and ester groups. Due to the polar groups, these LE-waxes are emulsifiable. With increasing degree of oxidation, melt viscosity, solidification point, drop point and hardness decrease. LE-waxes 253 N and 262 N have a white to slightly yellow colour. It is used in textile industry: in emulsified form as softener, to improve tear resistance and grip of fabrics, as lubricant for sewing thread, plastics processing industry: as lubricant, release agents: in emulsified form as mould release agent for metal die casting, injection moulding and concrete, printing inks and coating industry: in emulsified form to improve anti block, slip and anti scratch behaviour of waterborne printing inks, as hydrophobing agent in waterborne varnishes, paper industry: to surface finishing of print and decorating paper and as additive for coating, candle and paraffin compounds: increasing of drop melting points, improvement of surface gloss, leather processing: additive finishing, fulling and smoothing of upper leather, polishes (Floor, Furniture, Shoe, Car): formulation component to achieve buffability, hardness and gloss. Low-molecular weight, polyethylene wax. Used in printing ink industry and coating. Provides improved anti block, slip and anti scratch behaviour.
