Cadmium Pigments are based on cadmium sulfide with the addition of varying amounts of zinc or selenium. The shades range from a lemon yellow (high zinc) through orange, red and maroon (high selenium). The excellent thermal stability and chemical resistance of cadmium pigments and their ability to provide uniform coloring with high opacity and tinting strength make cadmium pigments desirable for use in coloring plastics, ceramics and surface coatings.
