PPG Publishes 'Quick-Ship Color Selector' for Powder Coatings in Different Applications
- Aug 9, 2012
PITTSBURGH -- PPG Industries has published "Quick-Ship Color Selector", an 8-page brochure that features in-stock, ready-to-ship powder coatings in 112 popular clear, traditional and military colors.
The booklet is organized by five standard resin chemistry formulations: epoxy-, epoxy/polyester hybrid-, polyester-, urethane- and acrylic-based coatings. The products, which include ENVIROCRON(R) and ENVIRACRYL(R) coatings and a variety of premium performance products, are used to protect and beautify consumer electronics, appliances, architectural products, heavy-duty agricultural and construction equipment, rail cars, trailers, motorcycles and other forms of transportation.
Other general-use applications include plumbing fixtures, faucets, metal and outdoor furniture, fitness equipment, racks, bins and displays.
Vince Plavecsky, PPG Technical Marketing Manager, Industrial Coatings, said the card makes it easier for customers to specify and order powder coatings. "In many instances, customers are not aware of the extensive selection of powder coatings PPG has in stock," he said. "We want them to know that they can select from hundreds of colors, various resin chemistries and special effects such as chrome silvers and metallics, and that we can ship almost as quickly as we receive their orders."
Many industrial manufacturers favor powder coatings for their hardness, durability, chemical- and corrosion-resistance and environmental attributes. Because powder coatings contain no solvents, they emit virtually no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during manufacture or application.
