Sachtleben's Sachtosperse EP Barium Sulfate Particles Help Enhance Stability of Powder Coatings
- Aug 22, 2012
Powder-coated aluminium sections and profiles, for windows and conservatories, for example, are sealed after production into polymer films to protect them during shipment and storage. This form of protection can become problematic, however - if the profiles are stored outdoors before use, for instance: water can then condense between the film and the product. Experience shows that exposure of this pairing of substances to intense UV radiation relatively quickly sets off fading on the surface of the profiles and causes mottling.
Now, after intensive research activity, Sachtleben has the solution to this problem: the incorporation of SACHTOPERSE EP into the powder-coating. SACHTOPERSE EP - functionalized, patented synthetic particles of barium sulfate - enhances the stability of the powder-coating system immediately and with no complications. Gloss remains unaffected, and in Sachtleben's new "two-in-one" product powder-coating producers get not only optimized protection but also the important filler functions they in any case need for their systems.
Sachtleben is a leading global supplier of specialty sulfate-based Titanium Dioxide and specialty Zinc/Barium additives for niche applications. Their philosophy is to provide "Great Solutions with Small Particles" to customers, based on their understanding of their needs in core markets and on their key competences in the development, manufacturing, and the application of small particle size white pigments.
