Cytec Announces Formaldehyde-Free Crosslinking Resin that Offers Extraordinary Durability

SpecialChem - Mar 21, 2005

West Paterson, New Jersey -- Cytec Industries Inc. introduced CYLINK® 2000 crosslinking agent, a formaldehyde-free resin that is ideal for applications requiring exterior durability and acid etch resistance.

The new, carbamate functional resin is recommended for high-quality, solvent-borne and water-borne thermosetting finishes. It is ideal for automotive topcoats, exterior can varnishes, electrodeposition coatings, coil coatings and similar applications.

CYLINK 2000 crosslinking agent may be employed as the sole crosslinker in a formulation, or it may be used in combination with other crosslinkers in order to obtain an optimum balance of properties. Hybrid systems that contain blends of CYLINK 2000 crosslinking agent with aminoplast crosslinking agents can yield films that offer the advantages of both urethane and traditional acid-cure finishes.

In addition, CYLINK 2000 crosslinking agent does not contain or emit formaldehyde.
