Concrete Flooring
In general, the top protective coating for concrete flooring has to show
good performances in terms of flow/levelling, hardness, adhesion, abrasion, stain and chemical resistance. Non-odorous and
environmentally-friendly products are specifically required for those confined
and sensitive interior areas.
Compared to other technologies, 2K waterborne polyurethanes (PU), based on aliphatic
polyisocyanates show superior stain resistance (see the graph below) and better
durability (see pictures hereafter). That is why, it is commonly recognized that
floors coated with 2K waterborne PU coatings do not need to be recoated more frequently
than every 5 years, while epoxy coatings need to be every 2 years.
