Leather Finishing
Automotive leather used to produce car seats has to show excellent appearance and
soft-feel, high durability and light fastness, good water, chemical and abrasion
resistance. In order to satisfy these requirements, the leather is treated with finishing
formulations, usually based on waterborne polyurethane technology.
Hydrophilic aliphatic polyisocyanates, which are safer for end-users, are preferred
to polyaziridine crosslinkers. Besides, polyisocyanate crosslinkers bring better
durability and longer lasting performance than polyaziridine.
