Neutralization
In order to increase the quality of your paint, it is critical that you maintain
its pH constant. As you may know, an inconsistent pH can cause many effects
amongst others: viscosity fluctuation, pigment floating, pigment settling.
In response to this, multifunctional amine's high boiling point leads to
less evaporation and therefore to long lasting neutralisation of the latex.
As a consequence, the paints exhibit an excellent stability in term of pH and viscosity.
Therefore, multifunctional amine is a stable and effective neutralizer which
provides a stable pH throughout the manufacturing process. It will therefore reduce
the impact of any of the before mentioned defects and deficiencies.
Paints neutralized by multifunctional amines exhibit an excellent pH stability,
for instance in
semi-gloss paints:

The structure of multifunctional neutralizing amines make them an ideal choice for
emulsion stability and
pigment particle wetting.
