Wood Coatings
With the increasing need to reduce VOC content in wood coatings, desired performance
such as wetting, leveling, foam control and surface repellency of water-borne wood
coating are becoming ever challenging tasks for formulators. Overuse of hydrocarbon-
and silicone-based additives can increase surface defects, decrease dirt pick-up
resistance, and cause overall formulation complications.
In water-based and solvent-based wood coatings, the addition of Capstone®
fluorosurfactants leads to better aesthetics of furniture surfaces, thanks to better
flow and leveling performance. They help reduce craters and pin holes to improve
coating quality.
