Bismuth vanadate

  Bismuth Vanadate
   Color Index   Pigment Yellow 184
   Formula   BiVO

Properties

This pigment is an intense, bright yellow pigment with a greenish shade. When combined with organic pigments, it generates very bright shades with high chroma and high covering power. Small proportions of organic pigment have a dramatic impact on the color tone. Early grades were defective in terms of being photochromic: they changed shade in the presence of light, slowly returning to their original shade upon removal of the light source. However, the introduction of inorganic light stabilisers has since overcome this defect.
