Properties
This pigment is an intense, bright yellow pigment with a greenish shade. When combined
with organic pigments, it generates very bright shades with high chroma and high
covering power. Small proportions of organic pigment have a dramatic impact on the
color tone. Early grades were defective in terms of being photochromic: they changed
shade in the presence of light, slowly returning to their original shade upon removal
of the light source. However, the introduction of inorganic light stabilisers has
since overcome this defect.

Toxicity
This pigment can only be harmful at high concentrations. Low dusting grades minimize
this risk. Current opinion is that they pose only a low risk to the environment.
Uses & Price
Bismuth Vanadate can be used for high-quality applications such as automotive coatings,
powder coating, and coil coatings. It is relatively expensive, but economic
in use.
