The grade CI Pigment Yellow 83 can have a larger particle size. Therefore, it posesses
high opacity and better light fastness. Its uses are in vehicle refinishing paints
(where it replaces middle chrome) and in commercial vehicle finishes. It
can also be used in powder coatings.
Uses
Diarylide pigments have limited use in paints but are used in the printing ink industry,
where they are the basis of the yellow process ink.
Price
These pigments are relatively cheap and economic. Some specific grades can be more
expensive.
