Problems
These violet pigments possess a very small particle size. This characteristic make
them vulnerable to flocculation. This can also produce plate out in some powder
coating systems.
Uses
Dioxazine violet pigments are used in a variety of paint systems: water-based emulsions,
automotive OEM paints, coil coatings... In metallic paints,
Pigment Violet 23 is more used because of its transparency and bluer shade.
Price
These pigments are relatively expensive. But their very high strength makes them
relatively economic in a lot of applications.
