Printing Inks

As you may know, printing inks mainly consist of semi solid drying inks. They are used for example in gravure, flexo printing, screen, offset, packaging gravure, letters and lithography as well as UV radiation cured inks. Depending on their viscosity, we classify them into liquid inks or paste inks.

The most used type of ink in the printing industry is UV curable inks. Their high viscosity and ultraviolet radiation curable resin monomers enable the printed image not to blur. Thus, UV inks do not get dried in the screen.
Here are some of the main advantages of printing inks:
Gloss
Abrasion resistance
Reduced drying time
Rub resistance
Color strength
Chemical resistance
Moreover, cost is a crucial and most important factor for the printing inks industry. Therefore, the main focus in the inks industry is on reducing costs without compromising quality nor the finished output.
