Specialty Isocyanate
Takenate® isocyanates, a new generation of specialty isocyanates,
have been designed to formulate high performance coatings
allowing developments for a variety of end-uses such as metal/plastic coatings or inks.
Takenate® isocyanates derivatives can be used as effective
alternative during raw material supply limitations, such as the
IPDI shortage observed end of 2010.
Because of their excellent end-use benefits such as superior adhesion to a broad
range of plastics and metals, stain or mar resistance, polyurethanes coatings based
on aliphatic isocyanates are particularly suitable when coatings are required to
play both a durable decorative role.
In addition to high performance, Takenate® (XDI, H6XDI and their derivatives),
also provide
manufacturing benefits allowing higher production efficiency than conventional
isocyanates.
Thank to their
specific chemistry, XDI and its derivatives have beneficial impact on the
final performance of waterborne or solventborne polyurethane coatings.
