Brush / Roller Marks
Brush
or roller marks are frequent defects encoutered in coating applications
that result in a poor quality image for end-users.
This unintentional textured pattern left in the dried paint occurs when paint:

Such marks are typical of coatings with a too high surface tension. To impact this
parameter and thereby facilitate spreading or impregnation of a surface, surface
modifying additives like
surfactants should
be added in the formulation.
The use of suitable rheology modifiers will also help to reduce brush and roller
marks.
