Exterior Wood Coatings - Wax Emulsions

Wood is naturally porous. And although it contains inherent oils that provide some protection, its porous nature means it must be protected from a plethora of potential damaging factors in both interior and exterior uses. Aesthetics such as appearance and touch/feel are other critical factors that must be taken into account while formulating coatings, stains and sealers

Surface modifiers, added to wood stains and sealers, significantly improve the weatherability of exterior applications such as decks, rails, stairways and siding, protecting these investments from costly damage and maximizing their long term aesthetic value.

With the proper use of a surface modifier, wood floor coatings used in residential, commercial, and athletic facilities can be protected from various degrees of traffic and wear during their lifetime, and can meet your VOC requirements. Wax emulsion formulations have been shown to reduce scratching, scuffing, marring, general wear and loss of gloss.

When it comes to factory application of wood coatings, a surface modifier can optimize the coating process on applications including prefinished flooring, furniture, and cabinets. It will provide anti-blocking properties, wear protection during transport, as well as chemical, stain, scratch and mar resistance.
